Terms of use

Last updated October 27, 2026

These terms apply when you use greenpailmedia.com. They also apply when you contact us, buy work from us, or are featured in content we make. By using the site or working with us, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

Who we are

Green Pail Media (ABN 26 692 648 983), 1178 Broadway, 3rd Floor #4567, New York, NY 10001, United States. In these terms, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Green Pail Media, and “you” means anyone who uses the site or works with us. If you use the site or work with us for a company or another organization, such as an agency acting for a client, you agree to these terms for it as well as for yourself.

Other rules that apply

Our privacy policy explains how we handle personal information. It is part of these terms.

Our other websites may publish their own terms and editorial rules. When we publish something on one of them, any rules that website publishes apply to that content too.

If you have a quote, invoice or written agreement with us, it applies as well. If it conflicts with these terms, the quote, invoice or agreement wins.

Who can use the site

Anyone can read this site. You must be at least 16 to send us a message, and at least 18 to buy work from us. If you are under 18, you need a parent’s or guardian’s permission to be featured.

Using this site’s content

You may read this site, share links to it and quote short parts of it. When you quote us, name Green Pail Media and link to the page you quoted.

You may not do any of the following without our written permission:

  • copy or republish the site’s content, or large parts of it
  • copy the site’s content in bulk, by scraping, crawling or any other automated means
  • use our content to build a database or dataset, or to train, fine-tune or test an AI model
  • show the site inside a frame on another website, or present our content as your own
  • suggest that we endorse you, your business or your products

This does not stop search engines from indexing our pages, or AI search tools from linking to them and quoting short parts with credit. We reserve our rights over text and data mining of the site. This includes our rights under Article 4(3) of the EU Directive on Copyright in the Digital Single Market (Directive (EU) 2019/790).

Who owns what

Green Pail Media owns, or has permission to use, everything on this site, including its design, its text and the Green Pail Media name and logo.

Unless a written agreement says otherwise, we own the content we make, including its text, design, video and audio. People and companies we feature keep the rights in the material they give us, such as their own words, photos and logos. They give us permission to use it, as What you give us explains. Company names and logos belong to their owners.

Nothing on the site gives you a license to use any of this, except as these terms allow.

Working with us

We make content about people and companies, such as profiles, interviews, articles, rankings, comparisons and wiki entries, and publish it on our websites and social media accounts. We also make video, podcast episodes and social media posts. What we will make for you, where it may appear and the price are set out in your quote, invoice or written agreement.

We decide whether to accept an order. We may turn down work, for example if it would break the law, these terms or the rules of the website it is meant for.

Unless your written agreement says otherwise, we have the final say over what we publish and how. This includes which of our websites a piece appears on, and its headline, length, design and images. It also includes how the piece is labeled and how links in it are marked.

Some of our websites label paid content as sponsored, and mark paid links so search engines know they were paid for. Paying for a piece does not let you remove a label or change how links are marked.

If you act for someone else

If you are an agency, publicist, employer or anyone else who orders work about another person or company, you agree that:

  • they know about the work and agree to it, and you are allowed to act for them
  • you will pass our drafts and questions to them, and their corrections and approvals to us
  • you will tell them about our privacy policy, because we will handle their personal information
  • you are responsible for paying for the work, unless we agree in writing that they will pay

We may contact the person or company featured directly when we need to, for example to check a fact or to confirm a correction or removal request.

What you give us

When you, or someone acting for you, give us information or material for a piece, you agree that:

  • it is true as far as you know, and you can back up any claims about your business, your results, your products or other people
  • any claim that compares you with a competitor is accurate and fair, and you can back it up
  • you have the right to give it to us, including photos, logos, video and audio, and our use of it will not break anyone else’s rights

You give Green Pail Media a license to edit what you give us, and to publish, display and share it in the content we make. This covers our websites, our social media accounts and search results. The license is non-exclusive, worldwide and royalty-free, and it lasts for as long as the content is published.

We may edit what you give us for length, clarity, style, accuracy and legal reasons. We may use AI tools to help write drafts. Our privacy policy explains how.

Drafts and approvals

Your quote, invoice or written agreement says whether you will see a piece before it goes live. On our interview publications, the person featured always approves the final text before it is published.

If you see a mistake after a piece goes live, tell us through our contact form and we will fix it.

Prices and payment

Your quote, invoice or written agreement sets out the price, the currency, any taxes and when payment is due.

We send invoices and take card payments through Stripe. Please pay by the due date on the invoice. We may wait to start or publish work until its invoice is paid, and we may pause work while an invoice is overdue.

If you think an invoice is wrong, tell us before the due date and we will look into it.

Cancellations and refunds

You can cancel an order by telling us through our contact form. If we have not started the work, we will refund what you paid for it. If we have started, we will refund the part of the price for work we have not done, unless your written agreement says otherwise.

Once a piece is published, its price is not refundable, because the work is done. If we cannot publish a piece we accepted, we will refund the part of the price for work we did not do.

This section does not limit your rights under the Australian Consumer Law or other consumer laws. See Limits on our liability.

How long content stays up

The price pays for preparing and publishing the work. It does not pay for keeping it online for a set time, unless your written agreement says so.

We may update, move, relabel or remove content on our websites. For example, we may do this when we redesign, merge or close a website, or when we replace a piece with a newer one. On our interview publications, an interview stays up unless the person featured asks us to remove it, or it has an error we cannot fix.

Keeping your work private

We do not publish a list of our clients. We do not tell anyone which content you paid for, except the people involved in the work, or where the law requires it. Labels that one of our websites shows on paid content are the one exception.

No promises about results

Content we make does not come with any promise of search rankings, page-one results, traffic, leads, sales, media coverage, links or mentions by AI tools. We do not control how search engines, social networks or AI tools treat our content, or whether they show it at all. We cannot remove or push down content about you on websites we do not run. This applies to paid work too.

We decide how our websites look and work. We may change their design, sections and page addresses, and how links are marked. We may change or stop any part of them at any time.

Not professional advice

Our content shares information about people, companies, products and services, and people’s own views. It is general information only. It is not business, financial, investment, tax, legal, medical or other professional advice, and it does not take your situation into account. Talk to a qualified professional before you act on anything you read in it.

Rankings, reviews and comparisons are based on our assessment, or on the method the website that publishes them explains. Check details such as prices and features with the provider before you buy.

The views of the people we feature are their own, not ours. Featuring a person or a company does not mean we endorse them or their products or services.

Accuracy

Our content is based on information from the people and companies we feature and from public sources. We do not check every claim ourselves, and details such as job titles, prices and company facts change. We fix errors when we learn about them, but we cannot promise that everything we publish is complete, current or correct. To report an error, use our contact form.

Messages and ideas you send us

When you contact us, you agree that we can use what you send to reply to you and deal with your request. Our privacy policy explains how. Do not send anything unlawful or harmful, or anything you do not have the right to share.

You may send us an idea, such as a story or a feature suggestion. If you do, we do not have to use it, keep it secret or pay for it. We may already be working on something similar.

Acceptable use

Do not use this site to break the law or to harm the site or other people. In particular, do not:

  • try to get into parts of the site, our accounts or our systems that you are not allowed to use
  • try to get around our security measures
  • overload the site with automated requests, or send spam through our contact form
  • send or upload viruses or other harmful code
  • pretend to be someone else, or give false information when you order work, ask to be featured or ask us to change or remove content
  • harass anyone, or collect details about the people we feature to send them unwanted marketing
  • copy our content in any way that Using this site’s content does not allow

Reporting a problem with content

You may think something we published infringes your copyright or other rights, is defamatory, invades your privacy or breaks the law. If so, tell us through our contact form. Please include:

  • your name and how we can reach you
  • the address of the page, and the exact content you are concerned about
  • why you think it is wrong or unlawful, and what rights you hold, such as the work you own the copyright in
  • a statement that your report is true, and that you hold the rights or are allowed to act for the person who does

We review every report, and we may take the content down while we look into it. If we remove content because of a report, we may tell the person who supplied it. We may ignore reports that are false or abusive.

Accessibility

We want everyone to be able to read and use this site, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, screen magnifiers or other assistive technology.

Our standard

We built this site to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. This means:

  • Text has a contrast ratio of at least 4.5 to 1 against its background.
  • Every part of the site works with a keyboard, and the item in focus has a clear outline.
  • A “Skip to content” link lets keyboard and screen reader users jump past the menu.
  • Pages use proper headings and landmarks, so you can tell where you are and move around.
  • Form fields have visible labels, and form errors are read out by screen readers.
  • The layout adapts when you zoom in.
  • Nothing moves, flashes or plays sound on its own, and there are no time limits.

Known limits

  • Our other websites, and websites we link to, may not meet the same standard.
  • Pages where you pay an invoice are run by Stripe, which we do not control.

Tell us about a problem

Tell us if you have trouble using any part of this site, or if you need a page in another format. Use our contact form or write to us. Tell us the page address, what you were trying to do and, if you know it, the browser or assistive technology you use. We aim to reply within 5 business days, and we will fix problems as soon as we can.

The site is provided as it is

We work to keep this site available and free of errors. But we do not promise that it will always be available, uninterrupted, secure or free of viruses. As far as the law allows, we provide the site and its content “as is”, without any promise or warranty of any kind.

Limits on our liability

As far as the law allows, Green Pail Media is not liable for any loss or damage that comes from using this site or our content. That includes being unable to use it, relying on its content and indirect loss, such as lost profits or lost data.

If you buy work from us for a business, then as far as the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim about that work is limited to the amount you paid us for it.

Some rights cannot be excluded or limited by contract. These include your rights under the Australian Consumer Law and under the consumer laws of the country where you live. Nothing in these terms excludes, limits or changes those rights. The Australian Consumer Law sometimes lets us limit our liability for failing to meet a consumer guarantee. Where it does, our liability is limited to supplying the services again, or paying the cost of having them supplied again.

Your responsibility for what you give us

You are responsible for the information and material you, or someone acting for you, give us. Someone may make a claim against Green Pail Media because something you gave us broke the law, these terms or someone else’s rights. If that happens, you agree to cover our reasonable costs of dealing with the claim, including legal fees. This does not apply to any part of the claim caused by our own changes to your material or by our own fault.

Stopping work or access

We may block access to this site, stop work on an order or remove content if we reasonably believe someone has broken these terms or the law. We may also do this to protect our websites, our readers or the people we feature. If we stop work for a reason that is not your fault, we will refund the part of the price for work we have not done.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. If you have a dispute with us, please contact us first so we can try to sort it out. If we cannot sort it out within 30 days, either of us can take it to the courts of Victoria, Australia.

If you are a consumer living outside Australia, you keep any protection the law of your own country gives you that a contract cannot change. You may also be able to bring a claim in your local courts.

General

  • If a court finds part of these terms invalid, the rest still apply.
  • If we do not enforce part of these terms straight away, we can still enforce it later.
  • We may transfer our rights and duties under these terms to a buyer of all or part of our business. You may not transfer yours without our written permission.
  • We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control. Examples are outages at our service providers, internet failures, natural disasters and attacks on our websites.
  • These terms, our privacy policy and any quote, invoice or written agreement you have with us are the whole agreement between you and us.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, for example when the law or our work changes. The date at the top shows the last change. If you keep using the site or working with us after a change, the new terms apply from then on. If a change affects a client or someone we feature in a significant way, we will email them first. Changes do not apply to anything that happened before they took effect.
